American Heart Association Adult/Child and Infant CPR, American Heart Association Basic and Pediatric First Aid, SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome Class, Safe Sitter Babysitting Class, Mended Hearts - Cardiac Support Group, Sweet Talkers Lunch Bunch - Diabetes Support Group, Diabetes Self-Management Class, Be WISE with HealthWISE quarterly speaker series, and HealthWISE Moments.

HealthWISE also offers comprehensive corporate health programs. Each business is different, so programs are designed to meet your specific needs. HealthWISE corporate services include: Pre-employment and annual physicals and screenings (basic, DOT, job-specific), Post-accident and random drug and alcohol screening, Private safety classes - CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens, Citizens HealthPlex Corporate Partnerships, Corporate Health Fairs, and Wellness Programs.

Walk for Hope / Breast Cancer Awareness Festival

Citizens HealthPlex
This event is designed to celebrate survival stories and increase the awareness of breast cancer. Radiologist James Neumann, MD will give a presentation about the most recent breast cancer screening recommendations and treatment options.

Support Groups and Classes
Cardiac Education
These classes offer useful information on low-fat, low cholesterol eating, cardiac medication, cardiac risk factor modification, and exercise to help you prevent or manage coronary artery disease. Cardiac classes are available in an interactive format at hospitals in Port Lavaca, Hallettsville, Cuero, and Refugio. Call the Education Department at (361)572-5064 for more information on interactive cardiac education.
Mended Hearts Support Group
The support group is for those who have had heart surgery and their spouses. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at the Citizens HealthPlex from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Please call to register and to order the optional lunch for a minimal fee of $5 per person. Diabetes Education
Diabetes Education classes focus on giving the participants information about managing their diabetes through meal planning, exercise, blood glucose monitoring, and medication, if needed.
