VICTORIA, TX. (October 14, 2015) Mike Olson has been named chief executive officer of Citizens Medical Center and will begin his new role on November 12, 2015.

Since April of this year, Dr. Jeff Ackerman has been the Interim CEO of the hospital and supports the board’s decision to hire Mr. Olson, stating “Mr. Olson comes from an excellent healthcare system and will bring ideas that will help our team continue to deliver outstanding patient care. His experience and passion will be important assets to Citizens and the community in this rapidly evolving healthcare environment, and will complement the strong administration, physicians, nurses and staff already in place.”
Olson has more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience in competitive urban and rural markets in a national recognized Health System, Intermountain Healthcare, and has served as CEO of American Fork Hospital for the past 11 years. He brings a track record of success in hospital integration, volume and revenue grown and effective management team development. Mr. Olson earned his Master of Health Services Administration and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Finance. Active in his community and the profession, he is a delegate of the regional policy board of American Hospitals Association.
