Citizens Weight Management Center

More than 1 out of 3 adults are considered obese. It's well documented that obesity goes hand-in-hand with other major health concerns, such as diabetes and risk for heart disease. Losing weight is the best option to optimize your health. However, just as gaining your extra weight took time, so must losing weight take time. Fad diets and extreme exercise regimes can actually cause more damage.

This is why Citizens Medical Center has created a Medical Weight Loss program. We work to guide you on a successful long-term weight loss regime. By using the latest scientific advancements, our experts have found the solution to healthy weight reduction without repeat failure.

Our unique three-phase program includes:

  1. Jump Start
  2. Fat Burning
  3. Long-Term Maintenance

THE CITIZENS DIFFERENCE

The key to successful medical weight loss is to carefully lower your fat composition without setting off your “starvation alarm.”  This built-in alarm system can detect when your body is deprived of vital nutrients.  When this happens, you adjust your internal regulators to favor weight gain. Cravings increase and you alter your breakdown of food. This has been the pitfall of calorie-restricted diets and commercial weight loss plans. With our program, you have weight-loss success while eating real food!

If you have a BMI of 28 or more, you may qualify for treatment, especially if you suffer from weight-related medical problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.

IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE

Let our trained healthcare providers create the ideal weight loss plan for you. They understand how your body weight regulation works and are able to customize your treatment with prescription medications, meal plans, and lifestyle modification to prevent the inevitable rebound weight gain. Our team will use numerous processes only available to licensed medical clinics to access your current condition, as well as track your progress.

Getting Started

Here’s what to expect.

During your initial visit, we will conduct the following:

  • Medical Consultation
  • Dietitian Evaluation
  • Baseline Measurements
  • Fat Composition Analysis
  • Metabolic Rate Testing
  • Laboratory Assessment
  • Treatment Recommendations

A customized program for Behavioral Counseling, involving both Individual and Group Therapy, will be prescribed. Trying to successfully lose and keep excessive weight off without the support and tools provided by this therapy makes the journey extremely difficult and often leads to reversion.

Bi-Weekly Visits for the first 12 weeks with detailed progress tracking. Visits will include one-on-one counseling sessions with both our Nurse Practitioner and our Registered Dietitian.

Citizens Healthplex three month starter program with personal training. This gives you a state-of-the-art facility and the ability to learn how to exercise for your goals and your condition.

Long-term maintenance program. Once you reach this stage, your body will thank you by giving you more energy; you'll feel healthier and more vital, and many illnesses (like diabetes or high blood pressure) may be regulated with exercise and diet alone -- getting rid of numerous prescription medications, per your doctor's advice.

If you qualify, treatment can begin immediately! Contact us at 361-574-1888.
